From this Morning's Paper:
Victims Shot, One Killed in Robbery
Three men were shot, one of them fatally, last night during a home invasion robbery in which a pair of gunmen tried to tie up the three victims, police said.
The victims were shot when they fought back against their attackers, according to police.
The man who was killed was shot in the head, a second victim was shot in the neck and the third was shot in his chest. The two who were wounded are in surgery at a local hospital, police said.
Authorities have not released any of their names.
The trouble started at about 11 p.m. last night when two of the victims were outside the apartment building getting ready to visit one of their friends inside. As they stood in front of the building and called their friend, two gunmen approached.
The gunmen forced them inside the building and followed them to their friend's apartment. Once inside, the gunmen started to tie up one of the victims. That was when the other two fought back.
"They rushed them and that's when shooting started," police said.
After the shooting, the gunmen left the apartment without taking anything, according to police.
Police said two men matching the same description -- in their late teens or early 20s, with dreadlocks -- were seen committing robberies in the same building Friday. That attack, in which the victims were also tied up, was also caught on camera.
A similar robbery a week ago at a nearby apartment building may be connected, police said.
Burton said the robberies stand out because that area of the city has been calm recently.
"That whole area has been very quiet," Burton said. "There hasn't been a lot of activity at all."
Thank god this is happening in a 'civilized' place like Washington, and not in Kabul, where things seem to be a bit safer.
