Turquoise Mountain

Believe it or not, there are some normal things around Kabul. But one of the more amazing things--that's right, normal=amazing in Kabul these days--is the work of the Turquoise Mountain Foundation, which is restoring old buildings in the center of Kabul, while at the same time having traditional craftsmen renew their work and teach a next generation of craftsmen. The work that they are doing is amazing, and it was really a boost for me to hear how they are preparing for tourism to Kabul and Afghanistan.
