Around Kabul

I may be in DC, but it seems that Kabul is a bit hard to get out of my mind. One of the things that continue to haunt are the burqa-clad war widows, of which there are somewhere between 1 and 2 million in the country. Drive down any street in Kabul, and you will be approached by a woman—often time accompanied by a child—asking for money.

Here is a link to a short video that I took on the streets of Kabul. We were exchanging some money in the market, and you can see the world go by. Then you will see me approached by a woman in a burqa, who asks for some money. She is then joined by a second woman. I hope the video gives you a feel for what the streets of Kabul are like.
