Kite Flying

On Friday, it is traditional that the Kites Flyers of Kabul gather on a hill overlooking the city to fly—and fight—their kites. Much of the hill is a cemetery, where the honored of Afghanistan are buried, but which doubles up as a site free of tree and utilities lines that provides a great venue for kite flying.
Remarkably, it was about 20 degrees out on a bright, sunny, and cold Afghan day, but from the looks of everything no one seems to mind.
