I am checking out of the hotel in Dubai and the clerk from Uganda (no one in Dubai is from Dubai) sees that I am from Washington.
“Did you go to the Inauguration?” she asks.
“Yes, it was great.”
“I couldn’t stop watching’ she says. "And seeing Beyone and Jay-Z at the Inaugural Balls was incredible.”
Suddenly, it’s cool to be an American again.
