Around Town

I am starting to understand my rythym each time I come. It takes me a week or so to adjust to the place, and remember that Afghan, for all of its problems, is still a reasonably safe place. Just be random and go out and look around. So here are some things that I saw walking around town. As always, you can click the picture and it will expand. It isn't something you would think, but it is orange season in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Parts of the country are very mild, and they truck oranges in from Jalalabad, which is about a 3 hour trip over the mountains.

This is a river that goes through Kabul. There hasn't been much rain, so there isn't much water in the river, which is a very bad thing for the upcoming farming season.

Two Guys on the street, anxious to have their picture taken.

Two more guys on the street.
