Let There Be Light

On a new flight to Dubai. It leaves at 7pm--make that 8:20pm--so it leaves after dark.
Kudos to whoever is doing electricity. I'll be damned if the city ain't all lit up. Actually looks. like a normal big city. 5 years ago--and last year for most of the town--it was pretty dark. Nice going somebody.

Meanwhile, I am a little bummed that Afghanistan does do daylight savings time. Instead, they pretend like they are Indiana and don't change the clock. So now it is getting light at 4:30 but it's dark by 7:30 or so. Forget to pull the curtains at be time and Mr Sun will blind you about 530. Not good.

I can't wait to have some long summer nights. It is one of the best things about summer and Afghanistan is missing out on it. Add it to the list of things they are missing.

At least Kabul has lights.
