Whiskey Tango Foxtrot--A Day in Afghanistan

Afghan President Hamid Karzai told a conference on Afghanistan in London on Thursday that he would offer jobs and homes to Taliban fighters willing to renounce violence and would reach out to leaders of the hardline Islamic movement---MSNBC
Observation: If this silly sob has jobs and houses available, he should probably start giving them to all of the poor bastards that don't have either, and haven't joined the Taliban. If everyone not in the Taliban had a house and job, the Taliban would simply evaporated into the ether.
Meanwhile, in the same article even more news under the heading of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot:  GHAZNI - NATO troops clashed with their Afghan army allies and called in air strikes, killing four Afghan soldiers and wounding six, Afghan provincial officials said on Saturday.
Another observation: Ok, I ain't exactly got a West Point background, but this shit seems FUBAR. Really, I just don't think this is how it is supposed to work.
And then, just when you think you could laugh it off, reality barges in and demands that you understand the price we are paying:  Two U.S. service members and one U.S. employee were killed Friday in eastern Afghanistan, pushing the American death toll this month to 29. MSNBC
