I bought a basketball and hoop (what kind of Hoosier doesn’t have a hoop in the driveway?) and I am developing a team. The Kabul 5. I learned early on not to yell ‘shoot’ when one of them is open. My point guard shot a goat out front by mistake that was just munching garbage and minding his own business. Shame. Good Kabob though. The boys seem pretty enamored with bank shots. The backboard has a little give in it, so they can bang it pretty good. They even make one every now and then (me too).
Once we get the man-to-man defense down, and I show them help side defense, I think we will be ready to go. I am trying to sign us up for the Kabul Mosque League. From what I have seen, I think we can do some damage—though the burqa-clad cheerleaders are a little different. Well, at least my guys will be able to keep their minds in the game.
But please, if you come to one of our games, please don't yell 'shoot.'

If I get to Kabul, I will take your advice to heart and watch the "shoot" language. Basketball is a great leveler. I used to "shoot" hoops with some tough kids in a summer program. Got a little respect from it and improved my Game of 21.
